With the October 2018 update, versions of Creative Cloud and Document Cloud are not available for deployment via serial number licensing. On November 30, 2020, many customers will also be affected by expiring serial numbers. To avoid interruption and to access the latest versions of the apps, customers must migrate to alternate licensing models. For more detail, see the announcement.
If the volume serial number has expired, users may experience licensing or serial number errors. You can use the AdobeExpiryCheck tool to check if the volume serial numbers have expired or are expiring soon. If they have expired or are expiring soon, it is recommended that you re-serialize with a new serial number.
AdobeExpiryCheck (v1.0.0.3) is a command-line utility for IT Admins to check whether Adobe products on a computer are using serial numbers that have expired or are expiring. IT Admins can use this tool if they are not sure whether the serial numbers used in their organization are expiring or if they want to identify the machines with expiring serial numbers.
With the AdobeExpiryCheck tool, admins can get the information about the product licensing identifier (LEID), the encrypted serial number, and the expiration date. To identify installs for Acrobat Professional DC and Standard DC, see Identifying Document Cloud Installs.
Once you have collected the output files from all the client machines, you can store them in a folder and run scripts to find the machines having expiring or expired serial numbers. For example:
You can also parse all the output files and export the result in a file. For example, you can use the following command to parse the output files for serial numbers expiring on 30 November and export the result in a .csv file:
Finally, something that works! Thank you. I had same scenario. I had purchased LR5 and upgraded to 6. LR6 would not install, serial number was recognised, but I got the LR1-5 prompt. Picked LR5, entered that serial number, and 6.14 installed (copied folder in old computer Programs/Adobe over for the LR6.0 to 6.14 update). Thank you again!
Hello there community,I purchased Lightroom 6 in September 2018 and it worked fine for a while. I switched to another laptop, also OK. After a while, I started to get the message that the serial number was already in use on the maximum of allowed computers. I double and triple checked my old laptop. Nothing is on there anymore. Is there any way to check which laptops/computers are connected to the serial number and disconnect them?Thank you very much and have a lovely day!The customer support service told me they don't deal with non-CC versions anymore. However, I found the following information
I have Lightroom 6, my old computer died so i had to get a new one, but now it won't allow me to activate as saying the serial number is already used by the maximum allowed computers. How do i force it to drop any computers i know longer have to allow to continue using Lightroom on my device?
When you can't deactivate a serial numberBE SURE TO ONLY ASK FOR ACTIVATION SUPPORT TO ADJUST YOUR ACTIVATION COUNTYou may need to PERSIST or TRY AGAIN to find a support agent with more experience

I upgraded/purchased Lr 6 a few years ago and downloaded from Adobe. I now have a new PC and want to run Lr on it and de-activate the program on the old computer. I have the Lr serial number from the old computer. I can't find a site to download the program. I don't need the CC photography package. Any help here to get Lr 6 up and running on the new computer will be appreciated.
I am a cloud member so my clicks are different than yours, but there is a way to get to a list of your orders, then you can click on the LR6 order, then click on a link to download the 6.0 version and see the serial number, which means you could download and install LR 6 even if you didn't have the information from the old computer.
The process has changed again... AND, if you did not originally buy the program via download from Adobe (such as a disc or download from another vendor) my understanding is that there will NOT be a download link tied to your account, so you will not be able to download from Adobe now... this is for ALL serial number programs
Thanks for the useful tips on downloading from Adobe. Had a problem installing LR6 after downloading it onto to a new computer, a dialog box gives a list of LR versions 1-5 but not 6. So you need to select the earlier version of LR that you upgraded FROM (LR4 in my case) insert the serial number for that version, LR 4, in the box. Then LR 6 installs OK.
Permanently Offline If your computer is permanently offline (i.e. secure environments like government, banking etc.) you need to complete an offline activation within 7 days of the first launch of the software otherwise it will stop working. You need an internet enabled device and your product's serial number to complete this process.
How can I avoid having that happen? When I install the Lightroom 6 file I am not provided any option to enter my serial number, it automatically defaults to Lightroom CC. The computer in question has CS6 Design and Web Premium, Technical Communication Suite 5 and Technical Communication Suite 2015. I mention this as I am a Creative Cloud subscriber but it is NOT installed on the computer on which I am trying to install LIghtroom 6.
This should give you a 24-numbers encrypted serial number. You must then decrypt it (the "SoftKey Revealer" freeware for Windows has a decryption tool, you can also run it using wine on Linux and possibly Mac OS).
Another way to decrypt the serial number, as opposed to downloading freeware tainted by evil payloads (at least one download site for "Softkey Revealer" has taint) is to run a simple JavaScript function (copied from elsewhere, but tested and works):
Some applications won't work when transferred to a new disk or when run on a different Mac. This has nothing to do with whether or how CCC backs up your data, it comes down to the serialization requirements imposed by the software vendor (i.e. their anti-piracy strategy). Some applications will work just fine, some will simply require that you re-enter your serial number (Microsoft Office and Adobe apps frequently fall in this category), while other applications will require a reinstallation from the original install media or online reactivation via the vendor's website. CCC cannot (technically or legally) subvert activation requirements imposed by other software vendors.
The solution to this problem is the Account Management page of Creative Cloud. You can carry on the deactivation process from there, or get in touch with Adobe Customer Service to use your serial number and do it on their end.
The serial number is assigned to you when you purchase Photoshop from Adobe. To view your serial number, log in to your online Adobe account. All your serial numbers will be viewable there. However, you may not see these numbers. If that happens, try registering your product and reload the page.
There is one more way to find the serial number. You can use Belarc Advisor (Windows) to retrieve your serial number. Or, if you are using a Mac OS, try using the Product Key Finder on Mac. These utilities will help recover activation keys for all the programs on a system. 2ff7e9595c
